Modified/Proctoring Testing Accommodations
Modified/proctoring testing is overseen by the Health and Wellness Center’s Student Disability Resources. For details visit the Modified/Proctored Testing page on the Student Disability Resources site.
If you have received the accommodation of extended testing time (1.5x the regular period),
- Schedule a private meeting with your professor.
- Present your accommodations letter to your professor.
- Discuss the testing accommodations stated in your accommodation letter.
- Arrange with your professor when and where you will receive your extended time
- Visit the Modified/Proctored Testing page and complete the online request form.
Resources for Faculty
Modified/Proctoring Testing Accommodations
Modified/proctoring testing accommodations are limited to students who have provided documentation noting the need for extended testing time (1.5 times the regular period) or other accommodations, including extended testing times longer than 1.5 times the regular period and testing using assistive technology, must be scheduled through Penn State Altoona Health and Wellness Center’s Student Disability Services. To facilitate the faculty in their efforts to accommodate students for extended time testing, E103 Smith – Testing Center may be scheduled. Extended time (1.5) testing ONLY options are:
- The Penn State Altoona faculty member allows student/s to take the exam in the faculty member's office or another room on campus.
- Faculty members may schedule 129 Eiche Library for 1.5 extended time tests only. Note: This is for the room/space only and does not include a proctor. Please contact Victoria Hesser at [email protected] or 814-949-5212 to schedule 129 Eiche Library.
- The Student Success Center does not proctor students that randomly appear in the Center and are taking a test.
Proctored Exams for non-Penn State Altoona courses
Penn State Altoona’s Student Success Center offers proctoring services for Penn State Altoona students taking an online course with another Penn State campus, or other accredited college or university. Exams are administered Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m.–noon on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are to required email Victoria Hesser at [email protected] with the campus, college, or university course information along with exam dates exams are expected to be completed.
